Ok, so I dont get it... VamView prices tell me this coin is off the charts, mid-4 figure coin But then I look up a sale on ebay and it's $ 142 in a high AU... ??? What am I missing

I don't show any sales on eBay of anything better than XF40 for this coin and that coin, started at 99 cents, brought $395

Poorly photographed and attributed VAMs do not do as well as they might otherwise. Also, the interest rating on that VAM is a 3 despite its apparent scarcity. But stick it on eBay I'll bid on it.

It does appear to be lightly cleaned. Figure about $150 max. to a VAM collector that wants to fill the hole without sacrificing $300-$400. If it was VAM 72, you could figure at least 3X that, but that is not likely what you have. How about an image of the obverse?

I don't see what you are speaking of, but "weird" hairlines in the field but not on the devices is evidence of die polishing, not post minting hairlines. Die polishing is common with early S mint Morgans

I seem to remember being warned by you not to snipe Peace dollars because it was your territory. So I didn't, I just stuck to cruising my 1878 Morgans as I've done for the past 5 years.
